About Us
Formed in 2023, we are a growing coalition of Minnesota guaranteed income pilot program administrators, community leaders, activists, policy advocates, and individuals committed to advancing the movement for guaranteed income and other policy solutions that promote financial opportunity in Minnesota. Our mission is to push forward legislation and initiatives that advance guaranteed income, wealth-building programs, and other financial opportunities that address systemic inequities in our state.We build upon successful guaranteed income demonstrations and cash transfer programs across the nation, which have shown that no-strings-attached cash is a powerful tool to combat poverty, reduce economic disparities, and provide individuals with the freedom to thrive. By learning from the successes of other states, we are committed to growing Minnesota’s guaranteed income movement and bringing financial opportunity to all.

Our Legislative Priority
A bill proposing monthly direct cash payments to low- and middle-income households, ensuring financial stability and reducing poverty across the state, is moving through the Minnesota Legislature again during this session. We need your support in raising it as an important legislative issue.
key provisions of the bill
Builds on the success and lessons learned from Guaranteed Income programs implemented in MN and nationally
Disbursed as competitive grants to local municipalities, tribal governments, and nonprofits to create localized demonstration projects
Grantees will design their program based on community need with insights from people intended to be served by the program
Targeted to Minnesotans receiving any public benefit or with an income at or below 300% of the poverty guideline
Funded by both state and private dollars
Monthly payments will be at least $500/month for a period of at least 18 months
Rigorous program evaluation of guaranteed income demonstration, plus guaranteed income community of practice
